Gallary Project 8: RAF Airfield

Storyline

Still remain to a small diorama layout and an airfield on the British Isle would not be that difficult to set the stage. A meadow and some asphalt. Forgot initially even a watch tower to complete the imaginary. To complete all: even anti-air gunnery in a corner stuffed. The British RAF is maintaining and gearing up 2 planes for taking off: a bomber and fighter. Various supporting vehicles in the vicinity.

I enjoyed coloring the staff, pilots and crew as something else than soldier uniforms. On top, I favor the blue color. There are also female staff members. More humor is recognizable as bombs (incendiary version as well) just laying around the storage tent. Something has gone wrong because the fire man are present. Another situation with a drop bikes from a pilot rushing to the fighter plane.

The sketched situation could be a regular day or preparation for an attack ordered by bomber command and escorted by fighters. An extra memorable moment is that the bomber was prepared years ago as one of the first of all hundreds of air planes. The fighter was also prepared long before the modeled scenario, perhaps in between.

Extra is a few air defense lads from the infantry, scan the sky from the tower and operating an famous Bofors AA-gun. All vehicles are also made in Britain as well the explosives and devices. Gauge in pounds says it all.  The plastic models which are constructed, painted and hence used in the diorama are represented below. Click on each images to redirect to detailed facts & more photos.
